How did I miss that one?
I like the wide visor on my current lid (Giro Aerohead v1) but that's taking it quite a lot further as well as sticking more helmet into the air, which seems counter-intuituve.

sticking more helmet into the air
Rock out with your cock out.
The hat is not an isolated body, it's a fairing for the rider.

Obviously, but looking at it, it seems to sit proud of their backs as well as covering the shoulders which is why it seems (I'm well aware aero is more complicated than my eyeballs can deal with) counter-intuituve.

How massive?
Not as big as yours by the sound of it! Just on the large side.
My wife has the opposite problem. We once hired bikes in gran canaria and they didn't have an adult helmet small enough to fit her, she had to have a child's one. She can now wear our 6 year old daughter's one.

If you're just after something to get started with, you can have my dad's old Casco Speedtime and look like a German fireman

What do we think is the best back wheel option for rim brake tt bike
- Current cheap vision back wheel which I know fits nicely with a 23mm tyre, with an added disc cover
- a new prime primavera 80mm deep wheel
- Another option in similar £200-300max range
Mostly for tri use- sprints, half iron, not generally super hilly but not flat drag strips either
Doesn’t need to be used for training, vision wheels can do this job for now - Current cheap vision back wheel which I know fits nicely with a 23mm tyre, with an added disc cover

A cheap 2nd hand RON wheels disc with a superficial dent in it from yours truly?

Sounds good if it's available

Yeh maybe. Will it take 11 speed?
Tubular or clincher? -
• #20586
Yep, 11sp cassette fitted, along with a 23mm gp4k clincher

Yes very keen please. Pm?

Do you need a cheap tri spoke for front?
-
• #20589
Need is a big word! I’d love one but I already have a deep section and limited funds so should probably stick with that.
Triathlons are crazy expensive to enter! £250 entry plus £300 accommodation for the weekend. I miss £4 club tt’s! -

What you got?
-

ADR clincher with new 22mm conti attack and one of those silly expensive silca latex tubes with speed shield. £175 inc tyre and tube? It's meant to be a couple of watts faster than a Hed. With the roads getting worse and worse I'm finding this too narrow and hard to ride anymore.

This is already under investigation by the UCI and considering they've just banned Specializeds head sock surely they're going to ban the Aerohead 2 aswell.

Thankfully none of my races give two shits about UCI rules. :)
Look forward to having an even more massive noggin in races soon.

In that case go big or go home

In the old days that's probably been done (where's Xav's pics?) but I think you can't wear fairings now? They have to be protective helmets? I guess I could extend an existing helmet but I'm not the arts and crafts type.

cheers man, but il pass for the same reason. Id quite like something a bit wider, my local TT course doesnt have the smoothest roads.

Ooh nice!
How stiff are the sides over your face? I sold a kask as it was too flexible and I worried I was going to snap it jamming it on quick in transition! This looks a good shape -
• #20599
I've been looking for a Hed 9 tubeless clincher for the front for that reason. Careful going too wide if you've got an older frame. I couldn't get a 30mm wide in mine
-

Disc cover I would say every time. Likely to be faster than a 80mm new wheel and a lot cheaper. And you already know the existing wheel fits the frame.
I can see his ears, does that mean I can use it in the road bike class
