I have come to the conclusion, that everyone will care about obviously, that because we have a clearer eye on doping now we effectively have a peloton of mules, and that means the actual great riders look super human.
Where as before we had a peloton full of EPO fuelled monsters it didn’t stand out as much.
Thanks for listening to my underslept caffeine fuelled ramblings.

How could it be banned though? Think it meets the current dimension criteria.
Be interesting to see the aero claims for it. I kinda like the poc tempor but I'm not an instant fan of the giro

Does it. Maybe the fore and aft shape make it look longer than it actually is

It's not on the exceptions list
It looks to me like they've taken the UCI box and just maxed it out completely. Having said that, those dimensions were only announced very recently so I imagine Giro had this in development before the rules were shared. So I would expect to see it added to that exceptions list very shortly.

They were announced November 2022 and started January 2023, I wouldn't say that's super recent. Pretty sure I've read that the UCI consults with manufacturers when making new rules as well.

Developing a new helmet normally takes a lot longer than 15 months, so I'm sure Giro had this underway before the end of 2022 in which case they can apply for exception.
The UCI does often consult manufacturers (see recent lever debacle) but in this case I believe those rules were a bit of a kneejerk reaction to the Specialized TT5. -
