Exploding (recalled) Shimano R515's paired to R550 levers.
This same combo was previously fitted to my tandem and worked much better than the MT200 hydro's that are fitted now. Not super snappy but heaps of leverage and power. -

I can't believe they rereleased this and I missed it! I really miss my old one. Sorely tempted despite having no room for another bike

Instant forum favorite for me!
Perfectly fitting fenders, who makes those?
Also what's that seatpost? -
• #8756
Thanks!
Fenders are Pelago 55mm and the seatpost is a Shimano R600. -

Looks great!
Excuse me if missed it, but what are the mods?
Or is this a mulo with road dropouts?! -
• #8758
Oh it's the Mulo I posted on the previous page. I don't seem to able to quote myself but there are two pics.
But basically I chopped off the wishbone and dropouts and replaced them with a pair of S-bend seatstays and Konga dropouts. Also moved around some braze-ons. -

It’s the tire clearance on a Mulo any better than on a Pomp?
I imagine the price is going to go way back up if/when they ever get anything other than small Mulos back in stock though.
-
• #8765
On an Open Pro but nonetheless.
Yeah, bigger clearance. And the Pomp V4 had a stupid low seatstay bridge that limited clearance. -

I have a spare 120 spaced rear wheel, a spare disc front wheel, a spare disc fork of the right length…now I wish I could get a Mulo!

Why did you change the fork? Looks great

Pompetamine rat messenger fixed project! Got the frame for next to nothing as the seat post was stuck, but I got it out with a load of patience and WD40. Made some wheels with wide Ryde rims and a Surly fixed/disc rear hub, scraped the parts bin for cranks, saddle etc. and just did a test ride. The ride is very nice, but:
Not happy with having to resort to double adapters to fit modern-ish brake calipers. These make it nigh impossible to get rid of brake rub. Also it means I have to use 180mm discs which is a bit overkill. Wondering whether I should put on some old IS mount calipers to get rid of the 2 adapters per caliper. Will these work with the 10sp Tiagra levers?
The bars, bargainous as well but not yet very happy with these either. I think they're too wide and not long enough in the drops (meaning I'd like the ends of the bars longer so there's the option of just resting your hands on a horizontal bit of tube). Any suggestions for narrower bars with medium flare and 'long ends'?
Also: was it a standard feature that the right rear dropout was bolted onto the rear seat stay so as to facilitate fitting a belt-drive? Or was this some prototype or DIY-hack?
And it needs mudguards, preferably SKS long board (the only ones with decent front guard length + mud flap so as to keep the toes dry(ish)) but they seem to have ended production :-/

I think the belt drive option was a standard feature at one point. On-one were selling a complete bike with a belt drive and Nexus hub for a while, if I recall correctly.

Cheers! Found this pic but these are bolted in a different way (looks even more DIY) from mine. This one is obscured by the rack but I think it's the same. Couldn't find any more about it online.
Anyway I hope it will stay in place, as it's only a tiny M5 allen bolt holding dropout and seat stay together. Might put in a longer bolt with a nylock nut.
Oh, that’s good. What are the brakes?
