I presume you registered the frame number on retrobike . I have one similar obviously

I'm keen. Am also in E9 and would love a closer look. Will DM.

Not sure why I would? I don't use Retrobike.

More photos please

There us a list off all the frames that where built and how many are still around . Some people find that interesting in a train spotters way !

OMG, 30 years ago these were but a dream for me…
I am currently travelling in APAC but if it’s still available when I get back (Mid March) I’ll give you a nudge.

Sit on my Pace and tell me you love me. Everything about this is absolutely perfect for me apart from the timing gutted I can't take this right now 😭

It was 'too nice' for the first guy, so it's still available. 👍

Always wanted one of these... PACE where such a cool brand back in the day, I had a set of RC-35s, they had no travel but looked amazing! GLWS

Have you still got the Rob English?
-
• #12
Indeed I do. Never have the time to ride it though. 🙄

Lovely! Remember seeing the earlier versions of this at bike 95 in Alexandra Palace and have always fancied one. Sadly I think it’s a bit big for me

Aaahh those were the days! How I lusted after these in my XC racing days.
Needs period Hope brakes to fulfil my 1998 fantasy though ;)

Scott - I know you said you don't use Retrobike, but I'd have a look. It's the sort of place that is likely to have more interest than here.

Final try at £700 before I move it.

If it helps the sale I will chuck in the period correct hope brakes - cosmetically average, been in a box for years so will require a bleed, but good brakes nonetheless

Now sold!

Ok, this is now 'unsold'. 🙄
Despite the frame having no crack whatsoever when I sold it...and I know this because I cleaned the bike thoroughly, and spent time staring at the BB area specifically when I was adjusting the front derailleur... It has now completely cracked around the seat tube to BB weld after the buyers first couple of rides.
I wasn't thrilled at the implication that the crack MUST have already been there, and that it's not possible it could have just been completely fine and then cracked on his first couple of rides, what can you do?My far more sensible friends and family have said that I should absolutely NOT refund the money as it was no longer my responsibility, and it's just bad luck on the buyers part, and it's a risk that comes with buying a 25+ year old aluminium frame.
While I know this is all true, I've agreed to refund the money to the buyer, which has now dropped me massively in the shit this month....so I'm now going to have to split the bike and sell as much as I can separately.
So if anyone is interested in any of the parts, they'll all be for sale.
I'll add a list to the thread when I have the bike back. -

Interested dibs forks depending on price; axel to crown on these is 420mm I think?
As much as I would love to keep it, my PACE RC200f8 is going to have to move on. I really don't have the space for it, or the time to set it up how I'd like.
You'd struggle to find one in better condition too. No dents or cracks.
Spec is as follows...
18" frame.
RC31 rigid carbon forks.
Original Hope ti hubs to Mavic 317 disc rims with red hope qr's and unused Maxxis crossmarks.
Chris King rasta headset.
Original Middleburn triple chainset.
Brand new black Thomson stem and seatpost now fitted. (Red Hope stem from picture comes free).
Easton monkey lite carbon risers with Ergon grips.
Fizik saddle.
Shimano xtr dual control levers. Xtr rear mech. Xt front mech.
Avid BB7 cable disc brakes.
No pedals.
I also have a set of custom singlespeed dropouts. Both without disc mount if you want to set it up fixed, or with disc mount, which would need some slight filing to fit around the current upper disc mount on the frame.
I'm asking £800 for the lot, for this almost pristine piece of mtb history, which is still fast as fuck!
Collection from Hackney E9.
If anyone needs other photos I can sort it out, but it's not easy to get decent shots in my flat, hence the older photo from my folks place.
