There is enough housing, but not where jobs ate.
And as much as I don't love landlording, small landlords are pushed out by tax changes and the incoming insulation rules.
Fine, then BlackRock buys up the place or it becomes an Airbnb.
Unfortunately this problem with rents also exists wnte there is rent control, and housing building costs Jane gone up everywhere too. Downsizing is also often hard due to lack of bungalows and apartments, and often leaves no £ or it more expensive than the house.
Of course a solution is government built and maintained housing with budgets under citizen panel control to avoid NHS like political football and short-term nonsense, but I fear pigs can fly.
