  • Good luck! Part of the problem with Chase over here is just part of US banking in general. All the big traditional banks suck. So it’s not just Chase.

  • Yeah, I guess why they chose to start from scratch over here.
The brand name is known but not so much, so it's an opportunity to start fresh with little to no ties a part from the brand, with Chase US

  • Nice I love the ray mears. I noticed they’ve just brought out a new version with slightly different numerals, less WR and bigger dimensions. Shame they messed with it.

  • If you're in London you should pop along to a Time4APint meet. Plenty of people there who would also like them.

  • Looking to get a Rolex explorer 1 in 40mm. What are the chances of me going somewhere like Bucherer and getting one without being added to some list?

  • I went on a list in the Geneva store and got one in a couple of months. This is heading straight to golf club but I went on under my mother in laws name which may have sped things up a bit. I believe they have some history

  • In short, slim to none. Depending on what the demand is like for the Explorer they might not let you even put your name down without previous purchase history, and I know some places have simply closed their lists entirely while they wait for production to increase (which it will do).

Having said that, the market has changed massively over the last year or so and you might get lucky - it has been known to happen. But you might want to try a smaller dealer as well. Somewhere like Bucherer will probably have more customers on the list for one than they know what to do with.

Rolex are building new factories. Availability will increase. Even second hand they're not that much above retail now. Just keep at it, if you can be bothered to play the game. If you're polite but persistent, and emphasise that that's the watch you really want, and you're not looking to sell it on, you probably have more of a chance.

  • I remember a US client trying to convince me how good banking was over there. They seemed to view the lack of chip and pin and arbitrary contactless introduction as positives

  • No worries

  • Ok cool

not my main bank as I said but would consider moving over them as my main one at some point

Been happy with it and the app where some in the UK are just pants, think the worst one I used was the CoOp banking app left them after about a month.

  • Is this a group somewhere?

  • The whole point of a grail watch is that they don’t exist.

  • And/or unobtainable, but if you can get it then happy days.

  • That’s very philosophical.

  • In case anyone is looking for the g shock square metal in silver it is down to £360 at ernest jones at the moment (personally would still for for a 5600 and a mod kit tho...)

  • Its so awful. Too much to write down about why its so awful. Being part of a credit union definitely makes it more bearable as almost all credit unions are part of a credit union network called Co-Op which is not dissimilar to Link in the UK, so I can at least use a lot of ATMs for free and do 'shared branch' banking - which means I can go into almost any credit union and they can pull up my account details and can withdraw cash or give me a cashiers cheque or whatever. But yeah, so backwards. Insane how much I have to use Zelle and Venmo because I can't just send money to someone's bank account.

But hey - at least most places do have contactless now. Including the subway in New York - that was a big win for whenever I visit for work.

  • We'll get to the point where we'll be seen as a big bank and I'm sure it'll happen relatively soon.

Just hope we don't loose track of what we are right now. Never worked in a bank before, but unlike the current inside mentality.

    Hopefully it'll stay

  • but if you can get it then happy days.

That’s the point, it’s no longer a grail once you have it.

  • Closest I can get to a Rolex at the Royal Opera.

  • Agree to disagree on that one, as I the meaning for a grail to me is a watch that is rare and doesn’t come available often that you would be prepared to sell everything for.

As the grail has to exist for the chase and chance own it, to your point does that mean that the grail isn’t really a grail and does that truly exist then that’s up to who is chasing it

  • I fucking knew it .
    White moonwatch coming March 5th.

  • @Regal let the saving commence!

  • This?
