  • Anyone with experience with old man mountain racks? I need to put together a new commuter for my partner and I'm leaning toward a big brand hybrid (trek/canyon/merida kind of thing) instead of boutique Taiwanese steel, mostly for weight reasons.
Looks like they mount to special thru axles and you can zip tie them to a (sturdy) carbon fork.
Id also welcome any other ideas that come to mind for a lightweight hybrid with guards and a front rack?

  • I have a 15 yo OMM rack that mounts to eyelets. It's been great on a number of bikes. Would not hesitate to get a new one for modern standards.

  • I've just fitted an OMM pizza rack to my gravel bike. Using a Fit Kit, which includes pucks for fork mounting and a Robert Axle Project thru axle.

    Would recommend.

    Uhhhh

Here's a new bike, new rack and some zip ties. Seems ridiculous. There are endless lightweight upright options that can take a rack and fenders.

    Spesh sirrus for example?

  • Giant tough road?
