I’d bang that bar under the bricks and see if you hit anything hard before or as you reach the wall. If not I’d leave it well alone, but if you hit something hard rip it up.
All very scientific you understand;)

Yeah I did that and definitely hit brick.
@TW no I don’t think so. They’re pretty loose and don’t seem to be bonded together. Or the mortar has eroded away.

I guess I could measure from the bottom of the window to the sub floor inside and compare to the measurement outside?
