There really was no win in this by election
It might not be a win as such, but the silver lining to Galloway getting elected is that hopefully it will make the mainstream political parties realise that supporting an apartheid government and an army busy committing genocide and war crimes does not translate to votes at the ballot box.

Also worth considering whether the wider electorate were informed enough to ignore Ali even though there was a Labour badge next to his name or if they actually wanted galloway
