Incredibly slow reply.
We didn’t talk to a behaviourist, but did lots of getting people round with babies and making the noises and going over the fundamentals again and again- especially the “go away”/ “bed” command.
We also had the luxury/ misfortune of an emergency CS and a longer stay in hospital so took baby clothes to where dog was staying every night, to get used to the smell.
Then when the kid arrived, introduced through the go find method-
Left kiddo in baby carrier, everyone else left the room, I walked Dora in (as she’s my shadow), on the lead, and allowed her to go find the kid- sniff, etc with much praising.
And then just equal energy to play with dog when kids being played with.
that looks so lush!
And also, as someone who's about to interrupt a dog's family by putting a new little human into it (assume this is what we're looking at here), any tips/experience you'd share?
