FS: Cannondale SuperSix Evo 58cm

  • Hi all,

Cannondale SuperSix Evo 58cm full factory spec for sale. Bought off here 9 months ago, did one run to Brighton and a couple of hours in some Devon hills. Not enough to do any damage; enough to make me realise that steel > carbon (for me). This is very quick.

Has lived indoors with me. Before that it lived indoors in @cplw's place and had little use.

I think its from 2014. Looking for what I paid - £750. Hopefully someone can show it some sunshine this spring and summer.

Collection SE1 or E5 or anywhere in between or nearby.

  • 0 interest so will move elsewhere.

Before I do, can I have some advice? There was loads of interest in this last summer on here when I bought it for £750. Is is just a time of year thing? Am I missing something obvious?

    All advice appreciated!

  • I've been umming and ahhing about this all week. It looks great!

  • Might be, it's been cold and wet and windy. Once the sun pops out for real and they realise their dumb gravel bikes are expensive and fiddly and slow someone will get their 2017 feels back and spring for it to have summer zings

  • I think it's a great deal. If it was a 60 and I was in the market for another Cannondale I'd be all over it. I reckon @youramericanlover is right, the summer feels very far away atm. Give it a few days of warmth and sunshine in the spring and people will start lusting for a fast, rim brake bike for the summer again.

I know I'll start wondering if I should finally get the broken SuperSix in the corner of the room fixed again.

  • it's a great bike. However, at the moment, an evo frame hardly sells for 400, a 105 rim brake groupset barely for 150. The kit and aksiums- apart from the saddle - are unfortunatly these days token value.
not being negative, but over a year ago i bought the same frame setup in 56 for just over 1.1k, with ultegra and hunt wheels which did have a resale price of around 450. At the time i didn't overpay by much but 12 months on it's a different story.

  • Interesting, I've not tried to buy a secondhand road bike in a while. Had no idea prices on rim brake stuff had dropped that far. It's also making me wonder whether I even bother getting my old one repaired. For the cost of a carbon repair, I could just get another secondhand one.

  • For what it’s worth, it looks like a 2017 model, not 2014. (The fork shape is a dead giveaway.)

    Glws

  • On that note, if anyone sees a 105 rim brake groupo for £150, hmu 😅😅

  • It's not that any of it is bad - far from it - but it's about as unfashionable a bike as you could possibly make

    Plastic
    Megabrand
    Rim brake
    Narrow tyres
    All black everything
    Aksiums
    105

Have you considered selling a boutique steel gravel bike with a funky paintjob instead

  • .

  • about as unfashionable a bike as you could possibly make

This is what appeals to people like me

  • It’s genuinely a very good bike, but I feel like most people these days are looking for disc brakes and at least 30/32mm clearance.

Also, this might just be me, but if someone buys a bike for £750, rides it for a while (even if it’s not much), and then months later tries to sell it on for the same amount he paid for it initially, it just seems a bit off. At least reduce the price slightly, but hey that’s just my opinion.

That being said, if someone is on the lookout for a rim brake bike and can live with 25/28mm tyres, then this would be a good deal if it was a little bit cheaper :) GLWS

  • Popped up on a site today out here for a ridiculous price in my opinion but they can’t seem to sell anything now. I know it’s not an Evo but the spec is top notch.

  • There's been formerly high end titanium and premium Italian carbon rum brake frames sell for a grand on here recently.

If you wanted something with discs there's decent complete bikes been on for 1200. It's just a bit of a race to the bottom at the moment for sellers unfortunately.

Great time to buy a bike though.

  • Ok thanks all, v useful. Will remove and relist elsewhere.

@k.del I guess my logic was is a 2nd hand bike worth less after 400km than 300km. But def see your point and would have been open to offers. Didn't mean to be cheeky.

This may be back here in late spring!

  • Still think this is a lot of bike for the dough if you ain't a bike tart. Can't even get a fancy pants jockey wheel for that money.

But yeah, market for these is fucked
