So - I have a 6-speed Brompton which I can get up hills on fine, but it’s sweaty work most of the year and not very conducive to commuting in work clothes. But I live at the top of a steepish hill. If I took the Brompton to and from the train I could reclaim about an hour of my life every day - plus I’d be cycling more - so I’m debating whether to trade in the 6-speed for an electric, or to get an electric on cycle scheme and just use the electric for commuting so I can get back up the hill in smart clothes without ruining them, and keep the regular 6-speed for fun personal stuff where I don’t want or need to lug a battery around. Is any of this sensible? Or just an elaborate excuse to get n+1?
