trump starts his latest grift
presuming they have been made in china or russia for $1 each he'll just need to sell 1,000,000 pairs and he's paid his fine(s)

Trump also launched a cologne.
Trumpsmells was trending for a while a few weeks ago. Stories of his diaper smelling. -

The embryo ruling in Alabama is awful, but the way it happened is complete farce.
Apparently a patient wandered into the cryo chamber and tried to pick up a container of frozen embryo's, got burned and dropped the container, killing a number of embryos. Being America, three couples then sued the clinic for wrongful death. This was rejected, but then the Supreme court ruled in their favour, thus shutting down IVF treatments across the state. Talk about a lose/lose situation for all involved.
Except for the god botherers of course. Unless they need IVF

The US senator Tuberville doesn’t even know what IVF is.
He thought it was a kind of birth control or abortion.
What a pathetic state of affairs.

Fox News is suddenly interested in the truth! Trump was cut off so his speech full of lies could be fact checked. Is this a new thing? What's made them do it? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-documents-fraud-trial-gofundme-latest-news-b2501136.html

Having to pay Dominion $800 million in damages probably helped focus the corporate Fox mind on the distinction between truth and lies.

That would account for one of the three corrections. But the other two were not connected to anything actionable. The first one was massively pro-Biden, suggesting that he should get credit for recent economic growth. My jaw is still on the floor.

Fox going overtly anti Trump could be huge. Not holding my breath, but it would be nice wouldn't it.
-
• #17464
Can’t imagine how Fox could cover the election at all if they’re against the Rep candidate, it would alienate their entire audience. And it’s not as if they can manoeuvre Haley into the slot.

Or are they in the know on something?

The Supreme Court are going to let Trump off the hook
-
• #17467
I dunno. I think this is one of the last changes the republicans have to sack him without losing face. I think they might just do it
-
• #17468
Sadly I fear the MAGA movement is more powerful than the party old guard now. The party have empowered and enabled Trump consistently and anyone who has crossed paths with him gets attacked (Cheney et al)

Surely they wouldn't make a president immune to prosecution whilst a there was a democrat president.
The implications would mean Biden could go on a rampage, knocking off political rivals.

No they'd delay until trump was president surely then rule

I think they have to, unfortunately. He hasn't been convicted of anything, yet, especially related to an insurrection, so from a legal perspective, it's hard to see how a court can disqualify him for running based on accusations, rather than a conviction. The comments made by the Supreme Court Justices during the hearing showed that they are troubled by this point.
I think it shows a major weakness in the checks and balances of the US system on a rogue president, but good luck getting that fixed in an era of hyper partisanship.

I just really really hope the American people will get their shit together and vote him out. If there's ever been a moment to rise above and make a difference, it is now. 🤞
-
• #17474
They don’t need to vote him out, it’s voting him back in we need to worry about.

Someone on a podcast made an interesting point that Haley still has money coming in, and this is why she's still fighting. The rational for the funding is to make a stand against Trump - effectively not letting him take the party without a fight.
Politico have a bit on it.

US House Intelligence Committee has made some intel reports available to Congress about a national security threat thought to relate to Russia.
