  • Chris Nicholl, 77. Former Southampton and Northern Ireland footballer who went on to manage Southampton where he played the 3 Wallace brothers in a top flight game and signed Alan Shearer, Tim Flowers and gave le god, Matt le Tissier his first team debut.
    One of an increasing number of former players who are citing heading a football as the cause of their dementia in later life.

  • Well it would explain the state of le Tissier these days I suppose.
    Nicholl was also the only player I know of to score all 4 goals in a 2-2 draw.
