  • I'm on grx shifters that dont have the third port, can I still use a climbing (sw-r600) shifter via a Y cable or junction box?

  • Yes, it can go anywhere on the system. You can also plug it into the second port on the GRX levers if you have one free.

  • Good to know thanks, currently have all used.

1 goes to Bluetooth & charge port, the other goes to the other shifter, and then off to the 4 port junction box down by the BB for battery, fd & rd.

So Y cable one of the shifter cables. Plan is to place the climbing buttons on my aero bars.

  • Cheers @andyp and @jp
I’ll pass it on. A friend has hurt their back and is thinking of flat barring their Tarmac for a while. I said I’d sort out the brakes, but Di2 is way over my pay grade.

  • Very cheap 3 port junction boxes here: https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/shimano-ew90-di2-junction-a-3-port/

    £14.99

  • Holy fuck!

Went to buy a couple, but the shipping went from $5 to $40 :(

  • You're doing it wrong. 🙃

  • Thanks. Not sure I'll use it but given I've removed the aerobars off the Tripster, I could swap this in, which would give me a 'free' 5-port to use on another bike.

  • Yeah, I wonder how long it'd take for me to sell ten of em

  • Anybody still using DA 7970? I’ve ended up with an EW-7970 wiring set and should probably test it before moving it on (have no use for it).

  • Someone somewhere is gonna want that

  • Just got an Aethos built in the workshop delivered, with Ultegra di2. What step do I need to take to get the shifting to work?

  • Has it already been set up? I'm confused by the question - if it's been built up, surely the mechanic has set up the di2 already?

If so, make sure the battery is charged and you are good to go.

  • Thanks - was a loose cable connection. Sorted now.

  • £9.99 now. Just bought 5. Lolz.

  • I've probably asked this but I'm looking again - will the GRX ST-RX820 12s levers work with 11s deraillers?

If they do, would you pay the extra to future proof them?

  • Mechanical and Hydraulic Shifting >>>>>>>>

  • Ahh, sonofabitch! That's why that weren't already in my list. I remember now. There's no GRX 12s yet, right? I knew I'd asked this before.

Got confused because the new series calipers apparently can be used with the older series levers (Di2 GRX).

    So I want GRX Di2 ST-RX815 + GRX BR-RX820

  • There's no GRX 12s yet, right? I knew I'd asked this before.

There is, but it's mechanical. There's no 12 speed di2 GRX yet.

  • Plus the 12 speed di2 components use a different wiring, so you need an adaptor, which Shimano provide, but I don't think everything works out the box, because some 11 speed components haven't had updated firmware to work with 12 speed yet.

  • Mechanical is dead to me.

  • I can update firmware but I think the bigger blocker is... the GRX Di2 12s shifters don't exist :D

  • Where's the best place to get the 11s battery these days ?

BT-DN110-A if I'm not (again) mistaken.

  • Okay, me too now.

But when I first hit the link, I saw 9.99 change to $30, and I was like WTFawww...

Lucky I tried adding to cart, where it showed up as $20. Weird

  • Yeah showed 9.99 > 14.99 > 9.99 for me. Weird.
