• Did I see an image of a Saab 900 Turbo with a French touring tandem on the roof in this thread?

I've been trying to find it to save in my life goals image folder.

  • It was an Orbit, very British and as stiff as a wet flannel. We'd have been better off with a pair of bikes, as the stoker discovered that she hated leaving the map, gears, brakes and steering in somebody else's hands. But I can recommend going to Beaujolais during the harvest. Lively atmosphere. Students from all over the world doing the picking and very happy locals. We tried to sample the wine in each of the 12 villages which have their own appelation, but it was a tall order and required much lying down at the roadside. In addition to vintages from previous years, there was the so-called paradis from the current harvest, which was a kind of turbo Ribena, kept in fridges everywhere, and dished out to anyone who fancied it. I'm not sure what it was. But it didn't travel and wasn't sold. Perhaps it was halfway between grape juice and Beaujolais Nouveau. The pickers would drink wine late into the evening and get through the working day by topping up with the paradis.
