Please buy the £10k AMG so I can live vicariously through your experiences.
As someone recently unemployed I’m not in a position to snap this up: https://m.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=1205281&utm_content=SLeligible

Check your local Halfords as the noco g1100 battery charger is £15 or £13.50 with trade card.
It is supposed to be a good intelligent charger.

(sub 10s to 100, 200 plus mph);
"don't ask me how I know."

Can you hear the sound of the supercharger?
-

Get some Redex into it!

There was a 740 in my street earlier in a nice dark blue. For such a chunky car it's good looking and very elegant.
But that grill!

Remember when they were massive?

What’s the go to family car these days? Have we moved on from Honda Jazz?
-
• #77161
Yes. It's all about the Ford C-MAX now.
Ideally in a theoretical peteol that will be impossible to find in reality.

Octavia Estate

Tbh I'm a big fan of the Golf. Octavia is also a good shout.
If you want to fit an adult inbetween 2 kids seats, or 3 kids seats in the rear then realistically you need an MPV, or the right SUV.

Define the size of your family - Including pets that need transport ideally

Golf plus. There’s a golf for everything.

I was made redundant a few weeks ago in a “reduction in force” exercise, so- the answer to “what do I get for 10 years service?” Appears to be “an unanticipated holiday”.

I'm sorry to hear that, we've all been there. Will you be returning to this septic isle?
If you're looking to realise assets, fiddy dorrah for the Porsche?

I'm going to try to stay here for now - if the worst case scenario with HMRC were to manifest then I literally cannot afford to come back to the UK, as I don't have the cash on hand that they'd demand.
So! I'm investigating options here - I have registered a company with which I hope to do some consulting on my area of expertise, and I'm working on some relevant engagements with government to drive that.
I had a brutal anxiety dream last night where my apartment was tied to my employment and I had to be out on the final day (1st March), but thankfully that's not actually the case. I didn't enjoy that, but I imagine there will be more of the same to come.

The 996 seems to be quite happy living with BRM so I think we'll stick with that arrangement unless I find myself foraging in bins for food.

Ah, that sucks to hear Dammit. I had a redundancy last year and have subsequently had an unplanned summer vacation. Searching for work is pretty grim too. On the upside my surfing has improved greatly. Still haven't found time to get back on the bike though! Best of luck with your plans.

No pets. 2 kids with child seats and a partner. Ideally we’d like to fit an adult between the child seats too as my sister is moving next door. Needs space for a small buggy in the back. Vehemently ideologically opposed to SUVs.

Any estate will do. But something with a proper middle rear seat would be nice for that person, see smax/cmax.
We do that in an outback but the boots a bit small 5 series size boot would be better. -
• #77173
Superb is better than an Octavia if you occasionally need to transport 5 people.
-
• #77174
Sounds like a V Class would be perfect.

Superb looks like an “executive” car. Or is that because people don’t tend to drive saloons anymore?
Gasolina on the speakers, full volume.
