Ultegra R8000 leak... or is it

I've got an 8070 shifter and a caliper in my spares box and I have a feeling one or both of them leak. I can put a hose on and fill them but is there any way to check if they're leaking other than shoving them on a bike and riding with them?

So connect them up, fill them, let them settle then see if flour sticks? I'll give it a go

Wouldn't you need to include normal operating pressure or leak may not show? So do as above, but also mount lever to a handlebar or appropriate diameter rod / tube, and then rubberband round it to keep it pulled?
