What do I need to worry about in terms of wildlife? Something that doesn't have exposed hot bulbs that fry moths? Very keen to not to anything that will harm creepy-crawlies.

Seems that indirect and downwards is the way to go. Not just a ball that shines everywhere Also warm hue as it attracts less insects, which is probably nice for humans also.
No expert at all though.

Gotcha. That aligns with my preference too. I hate those floodlights people have outdoors that illuminate fourteen gardens.
