John Savident - actor, lots of stuff over many years, but particularly Fred Elliott in Corrie. He'll be sadly missed. I say, he'll be sadly missed.

Stan Bowles. QPR and England footballer from the 70’s.

Childhood hero. My first match was at Loftus Road on a school trip, he was playing, I was totally besotted with him.

Stan Bowles and Rodney Marsh. Two mavericks in the same team. The Big Match.

We were in the Southern TV region so The Big Match was always a London game as a result I saw a lot of QPR when they were in div 1 and thought Loftus Road looked a great ground (compared to The Dell).

Chris Nicholl, 77. Former Southampton and Northern Ireland footballer who went on to manage Southampton where he played the 3 Wallace brothers in a top flight game and signed Alan Shearer, Tim Flowers and gave le god, Matt le Tissier his first team debut.
One of an increasing number of former players who are citing heading a football as the cause of their dementia in later life. -

It was a dump compared to Stamford Bridge at the time. Mind you, the Bridge was also a dump even tho' the new stand had just gone up.
-

Well it would explain the state of le Tissier these days I suppose.
Nicholl was also the only player I know of to score all 4 goals in a 2-2 draw.
Dexter Romweber, only 57. Great guitar player, RIP.
