Definitely not I'm afraid.
I guess it's not that regular a job, so I can make do with paving slabs and a boot jack.
One bodge I did try which was excellent was using heavy duty packing straps to slide under the coil packs, instead of buying the VAG tool.
Once you get the bend and folds right you can slide them straight under and then lift just as you would with the tool.A decent tool seems to be £20-30, which obviously isn't much if you're doing a lot. But it sort of added to the overall cost and for something occasional that I'll probably forget where it is, it didn't seem worth it. I know there are cheap tools, but I couldn't be arsed with having it bend or something. Packing straps were saved from our paving delivery for this job.
Did the oil and plugs on my mk6 Golf.
Jacking was tricky. I'd bought Halfords Advanced ones, but they're much higher than I expected and I was using the boot jack. Maybe time to look at a proper one.
The rest was pretty straight forward.
Just a bit of tricky jiggling and yoga with a couple of the coil packs. The plugs definitely needed changing.
