If that damp patch is directly below the cracked / missing pointing above the 'flashing' you could do worse than getting some flash tape and doing a temp bodge until you can get it fixed properly.
Another alternative might be to fix the pointing with CT-1
Both of these bodges, done 'right' could last a good number of years.

I haven't quite followed other people's replies, but for a temp fix you could use "flashing tape" to cover the join between brick and upstand tile, it's malleable and intended to adhere to uneven surfaces. Get as good a job as you can along the top. When you get it fixed you could consider proper flashing which is chased into the mortar between bricks.
Got some minor ingress here. Need to get pointing sorted, until then, anything I can do asap? I have some heavy duty waterproof gorilla tape, but don’t want to make things worse by using it.
