It's a "gub" branded phone holder but screwed down through the top cap bolt.

Me too! Great biek!
I have that gub thing as well on several bikes, the topcap trick is clever! I just used the mounting gubbings that they came with.
Also, what's the crankset and chainring? Look really good! -

Sram GX 1400 crank with a Neutrino Components chainring. Neutrino is a Russian brand, they were selling through their own website and eBay. Not sure if you can buy from them at the moment...

Wait wut, you pop down alias or more in the know...?
Many thanks though! They are more elegant being symmetrical and round then the asymmetric and more clunky SRAM Rivals. I deanodised a pair of those to get them silver.
Don't seem to find that specific crankset in silver though on the immediate Google search. He/you also deanodised them yourself?
The Neutrinos do look like wolf tooth in pattern don't they? But yeah, even if possible, quite a bit uncomfortable ordering from Russia at the moment. -

Ha. He's not my alias but he sure is clever. Yeah it's a SRAM gx crank that's been in an bath of oven cleaner and an eBay neutrino chainring.
That chainring eventually snapped (possibly related to an airline trip to Italy) and I replaced it with another eBay one from a company called workscomponents. Seems decent!

Few tweaks here and there but I'm very happy with the setup now for on and off road touring :)

Very nice! I like the silver bits on this.
How do you like that toptube bag? Is it not moving sideways too much when its full? -
• #137
thanks. its the inside of a giant wind turbine tower in Scotland
-
• #138
nah i dont find it moves much. its attached to the top tube and the bag underneath with plenty of webbing and held taught by the front and rear straps

Nice looking build. I like a black fork on a coloured frame, I think it reminds me of mountain bikes in the 90s. I wss trying to work out why they never had colour matched forks, but I guess threaded steerer forks would have had to have been stocked for every different size frame, in every colour model for that year. So they were always black / grey.
