What are peoples experiences with getting a knee tattoo and healing time before you can start cycling?
I really want to get the space on my knee covered but worried about how long I will have to be off the bike for.

Both knees tattooed, rode home both times, didn't stop riding and they're both fine

I was back at work on a cargo bike the day after each knee if I remember correctly!

had knee ditch done a few weeks ago. Took about a week off cycling but I was potentially being over cautious. It's healed fine now

As I feel I won’t be judged. I’ve had this around 15 years now. No outline wasn’t such a start move. It’s the artwork off the shirt I wore into the parlour.

Nice! Ain’t nothing wrong with that.
Have you considered a blastover in a black pattern/lacework so the old tat gives it colour/texture?
Have seen them end up looking like a stained glass window etc. -

I have both legs from the knees down and a full sleeve. About 65hrs total.
Weirdly don't have photos of them all together, other than from races. So here's a few scattered photos from omthe years

Another thing about knees. I still
Seem to skin my knees with semi regularity either from falling off my bike or the last time slipping on slick pavement walking home. How much grazing can a tattoo take and grow back? I think it’s probably a good thing that my knees won’t be focal point after all. -

Exceptional artwork.

I've also got 4 words on my ribs.
45mins of absolute hell.I did 10hrs in one sitting on my sleeve. Fell asleep when my elbow was being done. But Jesus fucking christ. My ribs were so bad!

My legs were done by Edgar Ivanov. Formerly in Kingston, but now off travelling Europe.
My arm by Jak Connelly in Bournemouth

One of my knees has lost a bit of shading from repeatedly bashing it. Not as bad as my elbow though (pictured). Top tip for tattoo longevity - don't play bike polo.

Belly/rib tats heal faster?
I got one last Friday and it feels like it's healing very quickly.
I know they take months to settle etc but usually I only get to this stage after 2 weeks or so.

How was the tattooing over that scar? I have many surgery scars now so just curious.
Quetzalcoatl themed tat is nice BTW.

I couldn't notice when it was going over the scar tbh. It was all painful. Most painful was the end of the snake's tail though. More of a classic eagle/snake than a Quetzalcoatl, but I'll take the compliment nevertheless. Picked it off the guy's flash.
