  • Ha, I have resisted so far

  • That is bold on the (assume) original bracelet but much better, I’m not a fan of polished centre links on a diver/sports. Looks like some come on an all brushed bracelet anyway?

  • Yes it’s the original bracelet and I didn’t like them being polished either, the later version of the SeaQ has a fully brushed bracelet now but my 2019 model didn’t.

  • Trusty G Shock - Last effort for the altimeter function before the battery died

  • O M G

You un flashing it??? I'm in in full support. Fuck yes dude! It's actually one of biggest hold offs on omega.

  • That Seiko GMT is very nice indeed.

  • Thanks, it’s always been some I haven’t been keen on, so wanted it done and a chap I had spoken to seemed to a little distant when asking again when I could send the bracelet to him, so watched a video and saw a comment that said about some different grades of pads.

Ordered them and took the bracelet apart yesterday and cracked on haha.

  • Looks so much better!

  • Great job. I don't have a Black Bay anymore but if I got one I'd definitely get rid of the faux rivets in a similar vein.

  • At risk of asking something that might get me expelled… what are Frederique Constant’s watches like? I got offered something that could be a good daily really cheap and, whilst it isn’t particularly exciting, it ticks a lot of boxes.

Shall I steer clear or is it a reliable brand with quite bland derivative designs?

  • Thanks I love it too, so much better!

  • Cheers mate!

  • bland derivative designs

Sums it up. But I would guess they are well made.

  • Before I go back to Subdial I don’t suppose anyone here is interested in this Breitling Superocean? I’ve worn it on the deployment clasp and rubber strap unapologetically for a little over 3 years (IIRC), and it shows, but it’s reknown as a bullet proof piece, and it had a full Breitling service a few years ago under my ownership. Never let me down.
Full box / papers / spare bracelet / service certificate etc.

  • Quite a few half-price G-Shocks (and not just weird/shit ones) on the Casio outlet:

  • Anyone had any experience using chrono24 and buying from abroad? Looking to maybe buy a g shock from Japan and wondering on the likelihood of having to pay import duties and vat etc.
looking at one of the all black metal 5000 models.

  • On a another note, liking the new autodromo night stages, seems like a fairly established microbrand aswell, anyone have experience of the quality of fininsh on their watches?

  • There are two autodromos on here I think.
I like them, not for me, but they definitely have their design language on point.

  • One for @Regal

But yes, they're very good quality.

  • Back on the samurai after an age of not wearing. It's a big and heavy ol beast, especially on the bracelet. It feels great to wear and use though. I'd forgotten about the smooth movement and the buttery yet clicky bezel. Probably should get one in titanium.

  • As @anidel says, I have one of the Night Stage IVs.

Fit and finish is good. They look more expensive than the price, I think. They don't feel super lux, I think they feel about right for the money, but you have to bear in mind it's all a custom design including the bracelet so value-wise I'd say it's good. I really like the design and it's very different to my other watches. Size-wise it's just about right for me (17cm wrist), if my wrist was any smaller I think the lug to lug might start to be an issue in terms of how it wears and looking "right". It wears well and crucially it has the thinness that you want on this type of watch.

It was also very simple ordering from them, free delivery to the UK and import taxes already included. Bear in mind the GBP price is linked to the USD price so it goes up and down frequently. £890 is the cheapest I've seen recently. Think I paid 910 or 915 the first week they came out.

  • Oh yeah, it is a thing with Group Bs that you sometimes mistake the counterweight part of the minute hand for the hour hand at a glance. Catches me out occasionally.

  • You will definitely pay import tax and VAT buying from Japan.
