Zinnser ABC primer then maybe Farrow and Ball again, but prob gonna go water based rather than Matt oil which was hell on earth.

existing filler doesn't look wrong from the image (wrong would reject the paint and also be rejected from the wood (absorbing the fillers water)),, it's all looking standard
get it right and get it right first time, is my best mantra to what is a very laborious process
That was pretty much the approach asashrepair.co.uk took to ours. Used F&B water based exterior eggshell to finish.
