Wikipedia Also in 2007, Navalny co-founded the National Russian Liberation Movement, known as NAROD (The People), which sets immigration policy as a priority.[64] The movement allied itself with two nationalist groups, the Movement Against Illegal Immigration and Great Russia.[65]
But BBC give a different picture the amnesty changed its opinion of him https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56181084

it's never good to make a martyr of an opposition figure
And that idea was probably part the calculation that allowed Navalny to stay alive for so long. But as Russia is edging closer to elections it probably became urgent to set an example for every other aspiring Navalnys out there. Last time around Navalny had just enough influence to make things awkward. Navalny was barred, but Ksenia Schobchak ran for office as the face of the nation's discontent. Not that Ksenia Schobchak and Navalny were the best of friends, they fell out eventually, but Schobchak gained a lot from Navalny's campaign urging people to vote for any party except United Russia.
For sentimental reasons* it will probably be very difficult for Putin to throw Schobchak out of a window, but by killing Navalny he may have managed to get her in line this time around. Without Navalny as a central focus point of discontent and his campaign to get people to vote, Schobchak will have to play along with the system to be heard. She'll probably drop out though.

His views on homosexuality were also somewhat unrefined iirc

I lost the thread a bit, and started googling for why people thought Chris Hoy is a fascist homophobe.
I'm glad to say I found nothing to suggest he is.

Only up the road from The Hawthorns - I was 500m away from where it happened on Friday night.
That road and the local area has some of the worst drivers I've ever had the displeasure of sharing the road with. Speeding is basically a requirement.

Police officers shared graphic details of the three Nottingham
stabbing victims' injuries in a WhatsApp group, a misconduct hearing
has heard.Students Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Barnaby Webber as well as school
caretaker Ian Coates were all stabbed to death by Valdo Calocane in an
attack in Nottingham last June. An unnamed officer first shared
details of their injuries in a WhatsApp message, and then a second
officer, PC Matthew Gell, passed these on his wife and a friend.
Barnaby's mother Emma Webber said it was an 'abhorrent' way to conduct
an investigation.https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/nottingham-attacks-victims-families-sickened-32156815

On the one hand, totally believable, on the other, it's possible there's a lot of under reporting of small cap gains at scale. Isn't there an allowance before you even need to report?
So lord Alan Austin posted on X urging to check for death cult of Islamist murders and rapists...then deleted the comment after complaints.
