  • Fail, tried a couple of stems and these bars are not holding with a shim. They seem like they'll be fun so will seek out a native 25.4 stem.

  • Uh, they look good in black!

  • Native stem fitted, much better and no slip!
Though had to lose the cheapo ebay stem mount :(

  • How do you rate the front rack? They seem like an ingenious idea but I've never seen one in the wild

Happy, it meets the brief. None of my bikes have mounts for a proper rack and it is easy to move.

Need to think about how you'll carry your stuff. I was winging it at first and managed to put a hole in a jacket that slid back into the wheel, it is quite exposed. Just picked up a 13l drybag that helps keep everything in place. https://alpkit.com/products/airlok-xtra-13-litre
It is quite wobbly on this setup but not an issue when riding. Might be annoying off-road.

  • Spoke a bit too soon, had to add spacers back under the stem at work to stop the rack rubbing the front wheel.

I'm only medium and these are hardly slammed bikes, would like to see a short stack version. The promo material has it fitted on XXXXL bikes.

  • Seemed like a carradice would be at home with it, this is basically the bagman for the front. Something like the lowsaddle longflap, I have one on my mtb with a high front rack platform.

  • Cheap crap from eBay 0 - 1 Ritchey Universal Stem Mount

  • OK the rack is irritating me a bit, stuff is always trying to fall down onto the wheel.
How would people approach webbing the back? I guess I could add a single strap between the loops.

  • You could wrap an inner tube round it?

  • This is great, @spinnnout!

I am planning to do the same and quite interested in the forks - as far as I got, the stock forks on the Elops are 405 a-2-c and the Condor Pioggia are 378, but it looks like it didn't mess the geo/BB drop?

Only rode it once with the OG forks and was too busy focusing on the razor thing brake pads that it came with... otherwise haven't noticed anything wrong using the Pioggia!

I saw one not long ago, maybe on reddit, with rigid mtb forks, looked amazing.
