Crushgrind have a shaftless grinder mechanism.
For a grinder that long, this might make more sense, as even a good quality shaft is going twist.

Basic internals and the grinder unit. I cut the stock shaft in half and mated it to a threaded rod at the top and bottom using glue and a collar(that takes up the hole interior space of the column). These collars seem to be stuck now as well... Ridiculous object.
