Ta - looking for non-dyno though!
Something 3D printed to wrap around looks like a good idea i guess, or knog link for rack?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but Moon make a rack mount bracket!

Yeah looked at that - unfortunately it’s for their older lights rather than the newer brighter ones I think. The new rack mount is RP - 49 but doesn’t seem to be in stock anywhere?

There are battery/rechargeable versions.
Wouldn't think twice about getting one if I needed rack mounted plus battery. -

Not sure if they do the switch on when dark thing though.

They were distributed by Raleigh, who recently stopped doing accessories, extra have taken over from today I think, but it'll be a month or so before everything is up and running.

Yeah, I had a similar problem getting the saddle mount a couple of years ago.
The Moon website has it in stock with $5 shipping to the UK if you're desperate?

This is actually really handy for something I've got planned. Thanks!

Cheers snotter - will hold fire then

I just accidentally discovered that my 5 years old bontrager/trek ion allows pass through charging on full brightness. Absolutely remarkable

anybody had trouble with exposure lights turning off when rattled? i have a strada and a diablo and this evening the diablo shut off 3 times (could turn it back on after first two times) when i was going over rough pavement. had to get the wife to come pick me up. the strada has had similar trouble and i can now hear something rattling around inside it.
this has happened once before when i hit a pothole going downhill with an older strada i had.
i have to say that this has pretty much destroyed my faith in the lights which i feel like are marketed as being exceptionally durable/reliable.

Is it still under warranty? Even if it isn’t, contact Exposure and I’m certain they will repair it. If it’s a manufacturing defect they’ll repair it for free, even if it’s out of warranty. If it’s not they’ll charge you but a minimal fee.

Exposure have a great customer care history so i wouldn't worry.
-
• #5692
so i've heard, but i don't feel great relying on lights (3 units and two models) which have had the same failure mode. surprised if i'm the only one?
-
• #5693
How old is your Diablo? I bought mine in 2014 and it's still going strong and has never missed a beat.
Seriously, get in touch with Exposure and see what they say. I'm sure that a) if it's a known design flaw they'll tell you and b) they'll fix or replace your lights.

another vote for exposure.

Bought a front and rear exposure trace set in 2020.
The rear started playing up some time last year so I got over 3 years out of it. I guess that’s about right?
The front has always been faulty. I should have sent it back from the outset but never did. It takes forever to charge and has always ran out of battery really quickly.
I can’t complain because I never contacted exposure. Wiggle asked me to go through their warranty procedure which required me to send both lights back. I never did it as I didn’t want to be without lights for a few weeks, plus im lazy.
Edit, I use moon orions now. V cheap and have been solid. Also like the magnetic mount system.

yea i live in the us so have to ship them a long way away, just very frustrating.
@andyp diablo is maybe from 2020, strada i think was 21. even if they do fix it i think i will probably sell it as being stuck out at night with an unreliable light is just not really a risk i am willing to take.
i've had a flare and blaze which have been reliable enough.

Anyone got a gopro light mount such as this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126099680672 they would like to sell me?
I see some on Ebay but they ship from China. -

I've got one. DM me your address and I'll post it out.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a nicer rear light for audax riding but I can't really tell the difference between Exposure Blaze MK2 and Exposure BOOST R.
Other than the price and a visual difference it seems they have similar burn time and lumens? -

One is much newers which could mean anything, otherwise I'd trust their stated burn times...and think more about how and where you want to mount it as they are very different shapes.
B+M Toplight.
Come on automatically when it gets dark so you don't have to stop to turn it on, eg for a tunnel.
