Folded metal, a bit pricey but I figured they’ll last a lifetime. I can just replace the planks when they rot.

Thanks :). I'll order some to keep my wayward beds in order

So neat. Exactly how it should be. They’re expensive. Looking at £10 2nd hand or about £30 each brand new

Cheers, yeah the brackets were a bit spenny but I eventually found the boards for £10 each delivered. I pinched a load of 8’ ones from my Dad too so the next lot will be different dimensions I reckon, especially for the flower/herb/salad beds I have in mind.
I still need to go back and tweak them so they’re level and the spacing is perfectly equal, OCD and allotmenting are not well suited.
Also great shout on the LBS having a surplus of cardboard, will deffo be popping down there this week…

For those missing Wilkos cheap seeds, I noticed Home Bargains has tonnes at 50p a packet

This is garlic. Planted some cloves last year. Should I be thinning these out?

I'd not lift it now. Did you plant full bulbs in some spots? I split and plant the cloves individually which gives one stalk per clove = a new bulb later in the year.
Assuming they grow on and do the same you could get some mega-bulbs.

Planted individual cloves, so a bit surprised to see multiple shoots. I'll leave them for now and see what happens.

a bit surprised to see multiple shoots.
Yeah that threw me a bit. Once the leaves yellow (June/July typically) you should have a great stash there.
-
• #4413
That does seem strange. You could lift one to see what’s happening? (I’m intrigued, hence the suggestion)
For ref my garlic is nearest the camera here.

Each one of them will (should) grow into a new bulb as far as I know. Could just split and plant out.
-
• #4416
I’d split them up…..give them more space to grow individually.
-
• #4417
Not sure I have space in that bed to split and replant them all. How much distance should there be?

How much distance should there be?
I use the rhs spacing advice
garlic cloves can be planted in rows that are 30cm apart. In each row plant the cloves about 10cm apart

Oo will check out my local. Got a gooseberry from Asda when I got my covid vaccine at the same time and it has been great, cheers

Tesco have them again too, there’s a giant nursery somewhere doing storming business!

Bought 2 fruit trees from B&M last week, , can't remember how much but we're silly cheap at about £1.50 each. Apple and pear.

That’s a lovely bit of work! I’ve got a couple of sheets of glass at the moment I should really do something with, both long and narrow though(door glass) so haven’t quite worked out the best approach to use them.

Nice :)
I really should get my finger out and make something like that....
That looks neat what are the corners made from?
