There is a club called 'The Bedfordshire Roads CC'. I don't know a great deal about them, but they are CTT affiliated, and I have ridden events promoted by them. If I lived in Bedford I would certainly give them a try.

Brilliant.
That's a bit sad Platini. This thread hasn't seen any replies for over a month and I don't believe you're from Bedford.
If you're being sincere rather than trying to score cheapshots please accept my apologies.
Nice to hear from the other guys!

I'm moving to Bedford in about three weeks, sure I'll bump into some of you.So far I've seen the green conversion with deep dish rear wheel, grey peugeot with red seat & lairy wheels, fluro pink frame & matching wheels, two lads on nice looking bikes sat at embankment pub last year, blue charge plug x 2, and the guy with big hair that has a very nice collection of bikes (at least two very nice track bikes) and an eddy merckx road bike? -

12 years eh…
How’s this going?About 4 years ago I did ride my crappy old bike, with racks etc that I used to commute in London on, on the route 51 with the Mrs and ended up on the embankment where some kids shouted “fixie dude!” at me whilst riding past.
I have since seen no evidence to suggest the Bedfordshire fixed gear scene has developed further. -

I live just over 10 miles from Bedford, and whilst I have never ridden into Bedford, I can confirm that I have never seen anybody riding fixed in Bedfordshire bar 1 person on the club ride and even then I can't remember if we even went into Bedfordshire or not!

never seen anybody riding fixed in Bedfordshire
I occasionally venture over the border from St Neots-ish, if that counts... And our deputy mayor also rides fixed round town, but isn't on here.

I'm just over 10 miles outside of Bedford as well and do a lot of tracklocross/gravel-fixed riding and singlespeed/fixed road riding around the area, but can't say I've witnessed a fixed scene anywhere I've ventured. Shame really!

Let’s build it!
I’m not in Bedford either (10 miles or so) but the wider catchment of Bedfordshire seems a good place to start.
Anyone on the forum riding a fixed wheel in Bedford? Saw a guy on a white frame with front aero wheel the other day on de pary's avenue and some in town on a green conversion I think.... Get in touch!
