Have to wonder why western leaders aren’t more united right now that there’s time
Because Putin has successfully poisoned the West with disinformation to the point of rising far-right and conspiracy theories.

Sadly this. Not so clued up about other countries, but here in Sweden the "regular right" are now following along just to get into power 😩

Poisoned or bribed? Naysayers warn of the dangers of war with Russia but in the real world Russia's military is so powerful its Black Sea fleet is being picked off one by one by a country with no navy.

Ukraine’s military, like Putin, have a thing for symbolism and drama: the Caesar Kunikov was attacked and sunk on the same day as its namesake died.

Poisoned or bribed?
There might be som instances of bribes. Back in the day Nick Griffin of the BNP travelled to Crimea to attend the plebiscite where the Crimeans (alledgedly) voted to join Russia and Griffin declared the election free and fair. There were more European far righters there as well. Were they bribed? Possibly, but I think most of them were just happy to be given some attention.

What on earth? When you have ex-president and duma members telling neighboring countries should be nuked the citizens of those countries are the ones poisoned by disinformation? It has nothing to do with far-right. Only one delusional are the leftist that seem to think you can hug Putler and he will quit his conquests.

Denmark to donate its entire artillery stockpile to Ukraine:

Yeah why not, we don't have an army to operate them anyway #peacedove

I think now is the time to go all in on Ukraine. It's either that or we'll be all fucked

Damn right kboy. This 'we mustn't upset Putin' BS has to stop. Claims that enforcing a no fly zone in Ukraine would lead to WW3 are also total BS and sound like Russian propaganda. There are countless examples in history where countries have fought each other abroad in a limited conflict without attacking each other's sovereign territories. Drip feeding military aid (or cutting it off completely in the case of treacherous MAGA Republicans) is only prolonging tbe conflict.

Russia's economy is growing faster than ours or America's because they are exporting oil via c.1000 'dark' tankers. This accounts for more than 20% of the world's oil trade, and $186 bn annual revenue for Putin. There's no real effort to enforce oil sanctions because world leaders want the oil. https://www.channel4.com/news/are-sanctions-on-russian-oil-working

All the sanctions seems to of done is create an Eastern trading bloc with China, India and Turkey reselling Western goods to Russia, Iran selling domestic weapons and tech and India refining and reselling Russian oil. All trade now done in local currencies rather than dollars.

Dangerous precedent for Russia.
Ukraine is now free to hunt down Russians. -

They already have been, have been several bomber pilots who have been firing the long range missles from well within Russia who got murdered

Support for Ukraine among Europeans remains broad, but nearly two years after the full-scale invasion barely 10% now believe it can defeat Russia, according to an EU-wide survey – with some form of “compromise settlement” seen as the most likely end point.
The shift in sentiment – this time last year, more Europeans than not said Ukraine must regain all its lost territory – will demand that politicians take a more “realistic” approach that focuses on defining what an acceptable peace must actually mean, the report’s authors argue.

I think it was debunked. Just some random criminals shooting each other in Spain. Carry on.
-
• #4549
To be expected, sadly. Western politicians posturing full support for Ukraine while drip feeding materiel and training (large drips though they may be) has no doubt contributed to the stalemate and resulting loss of hope.

Baltic states think Putin might be aiming to be ready for conflict with NATO by 2027. There’s another country on that continent that has instructed its military to be prepared for major action by 2027.
Have to wonder why western leaders aren’t more united right now that there’s time.
