It is a shocker, especially since he died while out riding, and to be taken from his family at only 45 is just the worst.
I'm only an occasional visitor to this thread, but even I noticed his deft and assured city sketches and liked them very much (also showed them to others). It's obviously not a huge surprise that he was an architect.
