• No offence, but this doesn't sound good. It reads like you are spending money to make a kitchen that's worse than the one you have.

I know a big fridge is nice, but if you can't make it work then sell it and get a different one.

You need a sink in a kitchen. A dishwasher in another room is such a faff - even if you have plate storage in the same room.

  • Replying to this version of no-sink-meltdown!

We don’t do any washing up in the kitchen, the existing sink is mostly for the cat to sit in (3d scans attached). I’m considering removing it now to test the practicality.

The existing layout is shit, the lighting isn’t good for cooking or eating, the extraction is non-existent, the worktop is gross and the cabinets are falling apart - it needs doing one way or another.

Other things Things to solve with new layout:

    • extraction/moisture control. Existing hood is against interior wall and non-ducted.
    • Plumbing is on exterior wall only.
    • Single lighting circuit
    • Slug ingress

So you never use the sink to wash your hands whilst cooking? Never fill pans, empty pans into the sink or put in other general gubbins? You must do some zen minimalist cooking.

Think about when you want to clean the kitchen? There are many things that are individual taste but not having a sink in the kitchen is a bloody terrible idea.
