Great work! The animal faces are all lovely.
But why no houses on stilts? :)

cheers all!
@inchpincher I used emulsion so I could just go and get colour-matched pots. It was just too thin though. Next time I'll use acrylic.
@Oliver Schick the stilts are there, man, you just can't see them. They're always there...

Such sad new about @Technics100. He was very talented and seemed to cheerlead everyone on this thread too.
He was going to paint a picture of my house in his inimitable style and generously offered to do it for free. RIP.
(Hope this comment is ok here - if not please let me know and I’ll get it moved/ deleted) -

just seen the banner. So sad. Adams comment's, artwork and enthusiasm for art club will be missed.

This news has really upset me, never met Adam but his paintings inspired me and entirely due to him I started dabbling with watercolours.
He recommended the sketch pad, paints and pens.
He will be sorely missed and my best wishes go to his family and friends. x

It is a shocker, especially since he died while out riding, and to be taken from his family at only 45 is just the worst.
I'm only an occasional visitor to this thread, but even I noticed his deft and assured city sketches and liked them very much (also showed them to others). It's obviously not a huge surprise that he was an architect.

That is so good.
The expression on the penguin is excellent. -

I read this thread every now and then. I paint models but haven't drawn or painted anything on paper in years. But inspired by @Technics100 I've orded the same water colour set, a little pad and pens and I'm going to get back in to it.

Is this the chap who did those incredible water colours of street scenes?
What a talent. Such sad news
-
• #2066
Yes, such a talent and a shock. Cliche but makes you realise how fragile life is - I was waiting to send him some photos of the house when it was “finished” but that never happened. His art is a wonderful reminder though I think.
This was little sketch I did in lockdown before we renovated the house - perhaps I’ll finish it now!

What is this? I like it a lot

It's the alphabet with throw up Graff letters cropped. Some letters are more abstract than others with the crop. Hoping to to get an A3 or maybe larger screen done and home print a few.

I dun a mural in the entrance hall of the primary school my kids go to. It was a lot of fun to do. Been over 10 years since I’ve done a mural, and I definitely had a bit of a re-learning curve to tackle. Not least of all to use better paint next time - I ended up having to paint everything about 3 times just to cover, which is a pain with my style as I do a lot of cutting back in.
Impossible to get a decent photo, too, as it’s in a slightly gloomy hallway with a big pillar in front of it.
