had a simple satellite controlled model ( always correct time atomic clock controlled ) for about 20 years still going strong, seems like they have a variety of different models hopefully one fits your brief

I've found what I've been looking for... it's another Braun.
https://www.johnlewis.com/braun-analogue-alarm-clock-black/p5219822
This one allows the backlit to be continuous, but the analogue hands also have little glow bits too.
It's still silent, easy to read, and doesn't need to be lit... so this works.

What's a good alarm clock?
Pets
Children
Anxiety
Dread
Doom
OverwhelmNot all of them are programmable
This is what I was relying on, unfortunately they would trigger way too early or not at all. Very unreliable.

It sounds like we need a quick starter.

Anxiety
Hangxiety even better, particularly if you need to be awake at 3AM

I'm using this one;
Works a charm, display adjusts quickly to ambient light. Wireless charging takes away the need for an additional plug / cable mess.

If so, I think this is the best thing posted so far.

Apart from encouraging you to have your phone in the bedroom
-
• #37
Right, but the phone is hidden behind the clock.
Also who doesn't have their phone in their room?(except someone who's recently read one of the articles about leaving it in another room, and hasn't yet gone back to putting it next to their bed)

Also who doesn't have their phone in their room?
Mine is always downstairs in the kitchen

Alright Mr smug 2 floor abode.
Do you listen to your podcasts in x1.25 for increased efficiency?

My phone is downstairs every night, should be turned off too, but sometimes I forget :( Anyway, second hand? I'm using a ~30 year old Sony Dream Machine, works fine.

Surely the bell wakes the downstairs staff to remind them to begin preparing the kedgeree?

That actually does look perfect.
Brightness is adjustable too!
-
• #45
Brightness adjusts automatically based on the ambient light.

That’s the one indeed. My url links to the .de website instead of the .com.
I’m a happy user.

Self control is the magic word.
I put it to charge and leave it there until I leave for work. Phone’s on flight mode but will ring for emergency contacts.

I've got a fairly faint digital clock that we use for the time and an old Nokia phone for an alarm.
-

Spot on.
Mine is in silent mode except for emergency contacts even though it is in a different room during the night.

I use an at least 13 year old nokia xpress music (5800?). Battery lasts about a month, since I only use the alarm function. Snoozing works sublime and due to the vibrating also wakes me up with earplugs. Also holds some nostalgic photo's/messages and celabrates the nokianess. If it ever stops working I'll come back to this thread for other suggestions.
The worry of my dog pissing on the floor because I didn't open the door in time is a good one
