If you wanted to build your own box I know someone selling an urban arrow XL with Rohloff and Bosch gen2 for under 3k potentially

Has anyone had success/experience of carrying two 4yolds in a bullit?

I'm a big fan of hub gears on cargo bikes, purely so that you can shift at a stand still. I've ridden cargo bikes and trikes in the past with derailleurs and it was a pain getting going if you were fully loaded and didn't shift down before you came to a stop.
Having said that, I've not used Enviolo, only Rohloff and Shimano stuff.

Enviolo is pure shit but you can get by on it until it breaks- which can be quite a long time if you don’t ask much from it (no hills, heavy loads, powerful mid drive). YMMV:)
It also feels quite horrid to use and has high rolling resistance, notably so compared to Rohloff IME.
It is cheaper, and useable to an extent. So hard to justify the cost of Rohloff on these grounds alone, I agree with others here on that point.
That said it’s been a couple of years since I’ve had the displeasure of using them and they’ve since released some heavy duty ones. Can’t speak on those !

Ah got you! Sounds like I've been spoiled with my hub gears then.

To be honest i have nexus hubs on two cargo bikes and both are still 100% with minimum maintenance. The 8spd is super common on ebikes and cargo bikes here

Not quite yet but my two will be 4 and 3 in april/may and it's not an issue. I've got the madjax box and there's a fair few years of growing space yet, even room for a dog (I'm hoping).

Oooh had only seen the envolio version! Thanks!
Van is provisionally sold so just a waiting game..
Someone does have a bullit e6000 with di2 alfine for 3.3k that’s really bloody tempting..

Cool thanks. That’s the box I was looking at

Has anyone had success/experience of carrying two 4yolds in a bullit?
How about a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, 30 lb of groceries 40 lb of firewood and two two kids backpacks at once? Second picture shows them from the front about to head out in the cold rain.

I have about 700km on my enviolo, equipped on a 40km/h pedelec rather than a cargo bike, but I have quite a few hills and I'm not going easy on it. Unfortunately it still lives on. It is incredibly draggy as I found out when I ran out battery once and according to the bosch computer I was putting out >300W and going about 5km/h on a false flat. Not fun.

Just having a clear out and realised I still have this: Thule Infant Sling I used it attached to the Bullitt canopy for my youngest when she was about 9 months old old until she was old enough to sit up properly.
Thule says not to use it when cycling but to be honest it worked perfectly (and as a hammock for her when camping). Gentle riding and the straps acted like shock-absorbers.

This seems in direct contract to a lot you've said the last year or so promoting GSD? Or are you joking, kinda hard to tell from this end.
But to OP @Jackytwoshoes, GSD is not in reality any smaller footprint than a Douse, Bullitt, Load 60/70/80 or any of the others, talking a few centimeters here and there. Find a way to keep your existing cargo if you can I guess is simplest.

Legend status Dad'wagon machine.
So so so many people just nay say Bullitts as the stock off the peg box and canopy isn't the size of an SUV back seat. Most of us are quite handy with the tools and relish the challenge of making something for our needs (why else are we on this obscure bike forum?). Goes for any cargo, buy the base bike, add and make things to your own needs for it, unless your utterly loaded in which case hire an unemployed industrial designer to sketch something up for you.
Well done Sir

Old 8 speed Nexus is solid enough given some care. The 7 speed nexus is awful, they regularly explode or just reduce to 3 selectable gears within days/weeks of being new on a brand new regular hybrid. Maybe some folk get good ones, but personally would be glad to never have to warranty another one.

That sounds like quite a picnic.

is it the old ones? I have a newer disc brake on on a bike and it wont die despite intentionally doing everything wrong to it. (I have a spare 8speed and a rholoff as options to replace it)

I have a three and a half year old and a seven year old. It's a bit of a squeeze but they just about fit inside the canopy.

The time has come to replace the front pads on my Tektro Dorado's, does anyone know if there are any Shimano (or other brand) pads that are compatible? Tektro pad code is Q13RS, cheers.
