2010 Bianchi Via Nirone C2C

Posted on
  • So my first road bike, which I sold so years ago, is coming back to me FOC. It's a 2010 Bianchi Via Nirone C2C, previously running Campagnolo Veloce / Centaur mixed group.

It will be minus the wheels and having been in a small shunt.

Plan is to modernise it as best possible, first photo shows it pretty much as it came from the factory. Second image shows it as it is.

Want to try and fit 32c tyres, am I dreaming? Was thinking a new fork would be needed but rear bridge would maybe have enough space. Won't know for sure until I get it back.

Thinking maybe all silver components, wheels and carbon fork but totally open to any inspo.

  • Removed old Campagnolo groupo will be selling crank, brakes, derailleurs and shifters cheap if anyone looking for some mid range campagnolo kit cheap. Replacing it with 105 11 speed.

Also found a few patches of corrosion where the paint was bubbling and the fork crown looked very corroded.

Stripped back the patches that were bubbling and snagged a cheap Kinesis carbon fork.

Thinking about touching up the small patches with a contrasting colour and maybe splatter painting the frame and fork.... pink???

Also got a set of the cheap Selcof carbon wheels ready to roll but needing tyres, probably 25mm max which will be novel after running minimum 32mm for the last good wee while.

  • You will never get more than 25mm tyres under that mono carbon stay. I had a later alloy rear stays frame .max on that was 25mm tyres.

  • My 2012 version fits 30mm (which measure at 28) but definitely not 32mm

  • Thanks guys, the 32s are a definite no, especially with the wide Selcof rims.

I'm going to try 25 first, see how it all looks.

It's going to be a proper summer road bike, so no need to go too wide but then again scottish roads are only getting rougher these days!

  • Here's some Inspiration.
