Really a lightweight, breathable, downpipe proof jacket doesn't exist. You'll have to compromise. Anything that isn't 3 layer won't be what I'd consider downpoor proof.
Me I'd compromise breathable. I'd just get a bog cheap waterproof jacket from decathlon. Then when you tear it you won't cry and can patch it. It'll keep you waterproof and will be lightweight. It won't be breathable but that's the compromise.
The alternative is a gortex pro jacket but that'll cost. You could get a second hand Arcteryx Alpha FL.
I just found this mammut. 3L and 170g. It will tear at the sight of a crash but could fit the bill. Though it might not be downpoor proof.

I bought this when my columbia was stolen with the cargo bike, its great! had 2 absolute pissing down rides in it and I was dry and not hot.
Looking for a lightweight pack able breathable but downpour proof jacket.
For winter riding I have a POC thermal hoodie, it keeps the cold out and doesn’t get sweat water logged too badly. It’ll keep drizzle out but can get soaked in downpours. Needs to fit over elbow and back protector.
So I’d like a lightweight garment to keep in my hydration pack in case the heavens open.
I tend to sweat a lot so wearing a waterproof for an entire ride is really sub optimal for me and it would be washed so often the DWR would get fucked quickly.
Any suggestions?
