It just really gets to me when traders state their own terms contrary to the law and require consumers to have an awkward disagreement to access their legal entitlements.

If you are referring to MAAP trying to get away with saying :
And you purchased in the UK, your invoice should be from MAAP Apparel UK Limited.
Which means UK legislation applies, so their attempt to not refund a purchase via the original payment method is in breach of is Consumer Rights Act 2015, PART 1, CHAPTER 2, Section 20, subsection 16.
