Cheers. Not really, enough slip n slide to keep it interesting though.

Weirdly this bout wasn't a cough and chesty one. Just fatigue. I doubt my heart rate went over 150bpm yesterday.

Take care all the same. Your immune system is trashed and stressing it like that wont help. The fact your HR won't climb is a big red flag to have climbed off the bike immediately. You risk putting yourself in a hole and taking a lot longer to get back to 100%.

You are of course totally correct. And i feel horrendous today. Got a few days off work this week, so will be resting.
I'm writing up the race for 220 tri magazine. If it wasn't for that, i wouldn't have started.

Onyx. Chris king.
Either dt or pro 5 will be very nice, I now ride mostly pro 5, but used DT for years with no issue. Onyx give instant engagement which is wonderful for tech riding.

Used to love the noise of Hope but having put a much quieter DT Swiss Hybrid on my latest bike, it's so muich nicer not having the buzz.

The pro 5 is a lot quieter than the pro 4

Looking for a lightweight pack able breathable but downpour proof jacket.
For winter riding I have a POC thermal hoodie, it keeps the cold out and doesn’t get sweat water logged too badly. It’ll keep drizzle out but can get soaked in downpours. Needs to fit over elbow and back protector.
So I’d like a lightweight garment to keep in my hydration pack in case the heavens open.
I tend to sweat a lot so wearing a waterproof for an entire ride is really sub optimal for me and it would be washed so often the DWR would get fucked quickly.
Any suggestions?

I have the 7Mesh one, it’s far better than anything else I have ever worn. Can’t recall the model name but it’s got a hood and a full length zip down the front. Expensive but worth it.

I had seen that one, £400

Really a lightweight, breathable, downpipe proof jacket doesn't exist. You'll have to compromise. Anything that isn't 3 layer won't be what I'd consider downpoor proof.
Me I'd compromise breathable. I'd just get a bog cheap waterproof jacket from decathlon. Then when you tear it you won't cry and can patch it. It'll keep you waterproof and will be lightweight. It won't be breathable but that's the compromise.
The alternative is a gortex pro jacket but that'll cost. You could get a second hand Arcteryx Alpha FL.
I just found this mammut. 3L and 170g. It will tear at the sight of a crash but could fit the bill. Though it might not be downpoor proof.

Wind Jacket if you're active in the rain. Best £70 you'll ever spend.
Rab, Montane, Patagonia, they're all good. -

Or if you're an edgelord like me, multiple layers of Merino, great for little drizzle, you're not going riding if it's bucketing down in any case.

Does it pack down small?
-
• #28248
has a pocket at the back and it packs into it .. i'd say a little smaller than A4 and flat-ish.
the best feature is the hood, works so well with either nothing on your head or a helmet.

That's a fucking bargain.

I like to make my presence known I guess. Hope would be matchy matchy with my brakes and cranks… decision made then.
Be careful huh, you could risk doing damage to your lungs.
