We had a great experience with this company http://www.essexbrickworkandrepointing.co.uk/

Thanks! I’ve already booked them in, so pumped to delete the cursed meringue!
Would you mind sharing photos of yours before and after?

Mad how shit pebbledash makes any house look. Is that a cute diamond flourish beneath the bay?
Thanks for the recommendation and pics!

A small ammount of silicone is all that's left to do in our kitchen. We're in SE London too. Did you ever find a mastic man?

Agreed - what's the theory behind/reason for paying good money to hide brick or stonework...? Weatherproofing or something?
-
• #9258
Weatherproofing, and often pebbledashed houses will be constructed with less appealing bricks
-

It was a scam; cowboys knocking on doors telling you your house was about to fall down unless you immediately paid them a ‘discounted’ rate to slap a load of concrete shit all over it.

Brickwork looks great but I’m here for the secret elbow and suspicious dog.

Bingo, then they moved on to plasticised heavy duty paint finishes

And the banging yellow door.

I like the look of materials and how things go together. It’s so exciting

How much does it cost on a house of that size roughly?
-
• #9266
I live on a whole street of pebbledashed houses (bar the one or two which have been insulated and rendered). The exact same houses are dotted around the city but most in less desirable parts.
Here the pebbledash divides opinion but some really embrace it - three houses on the street have had external insulation applied and then had pebbledash reapplied over it.

This looks really great. We might even think about nicking the bookshelves/reading nook idea, with a cupboard underneath for toy storage.

Didn't realise you'd moved to the outer hebredies

Hahaha! I never spotted those little ‘details’

Took an age to find the yellow.

It was just over £3k. In our opinion it was worth every penny.

100% I thought it would be way more to be honest!

No, it’s on the back burner as I did the essential bit round the bath and left it at that.
It still needs doing and I will fit the shower screen soon so that will make it more of a priority.
I’m tempted to do it myself as I don’t wear my reading/arms length glasses in the bath!
I do have the number of a tiler who I might try but we have other things to pay for and finish off which have inevitably stalled now we are in and back working. -

Nice! We’re having ours RAL 1018 Zinc yellow at some point this year.

Picked up a bunch of pitch pine floor boards for my hallway for a pretty good price. They were formerly structural beams that have been machined/milled into tongue and groove boards, lovely long 3m planks so should look great once finished. A floor fitter friend of mine said I got a hell of a bargain getting 13sqm for £500, apparently it's usually at least double that cost.
That isn’t going anywhere then.
Good work!
