Since you’re asking opinions.
I’d just have all the bricks bluff, with the roof and rear cladding matching it will look like it’s just been slotted in place and make the cladding even more of a statement piece.Matching isn’t always better.

Could I ask where it's from?

J & R Marble off Leabridge Road. They mainly do 20 and 30mm for worktops but I dug around in their workshop and turned up this chonk. Smooth side up, packed to level with something

Just had the scaff tin hat removed & glimpsed the loft exterior from ground level for the first time.
Loft getting plaster boarded after shit tons of insulation and airtightness tape…

Thanks, good stuff that I don't think I looked at before.
Wonder their clients ever have people coming over that don't ask when they will finish the works. -

This is dream
https://divisare.com/projects/486881-bast-e54Plans are afoot to rebuild my shed ripping off a lot of what they've done

Don't think you'd get that past building control in Germany without years of fighting.
Also seems not very energy efficient, but I might be wrong. -

The just put those sliding doors on the wall is incredible.

@andos @chrisbmx116 Thanks! Such a sigh of relief when the scaff & wrap came off, so hard to tell what it was gonna look like before.
@chrisbmx116 You're gonna hate me, but I've had another load of bespoke alu trim welded up for the ground floor 'sawtooth' roofline, to match the RAL7044 of the Velfac. Now to decide on the colour of the rain hoppers and downpipes; match the trim, or RAL3012 'beige red'...
-
• #9241
could you let me know who is doing the bespoke trim for you? I need some for around my velfacs. Thanks

This is so frikkin hot.

Let's see ur Velfacs... if they're not in yet, then let's see your drawings.
The alu trims around the loft windows are DIY; I used cheapo 'XT-VERT' raw aluminium trim profile, cut and folded the corners to achieve suitable watertight detail, and made a 10deg fall on the top edge. The whole lot was then coated with etching primer and painted with coach enamel in RAL7022 to match the Velfac frames.
The coping trims for the ground floor roof edge brick parapet are from 'Ali-Fabs'; they folded and welded the apex piece to the exact angle required, and powdercoated the whole lot. I'll post pics next time I'm 'on site'.

I’m concerned about the low angle of those windows and the load on them. They look large and heavy.
-
• #9245
They are large and heavy triple-glazed Velux. The rafters have been replaced with 150mm doubled/tripled to support them, and the ridge beam that they sit in has been replaced with steel. This is based on structural engineer's specs... hope he hasn't fucked it lol!

• #9246
Can’t hate you more.
-
• #9247
Low angle? Do you mean how low/high they are set in the walls? Some show off has a different roof type build which makes the loft look taller.
-
• #9248
Why does it appeal to you?
-
• #9249
Looks good!
What's going on with the pointing there?
-

Don’t ask ffs.
It’s getting raked out and re-done properly. Was trying to copy the pic below but the brickie flopped it.

And if you just went for red brick wall?
I understand the blending in thing, but would imagine grey wood/grey bricks are kinda hard to match unless painted? Brick has mortar while wood has gaps and so on.
Do you have samples?
Apart from this I think your architect is right, simple solution, and the two walls line up.
