  • Remember insurance is supposed to leave you in the same position pre loss. So get lots of examples the price the car as high as possible from traders or if there is an owners club for things more niche.

That wasn't a direct reply to you just replied and hit reply to.

  • They wouldn't budge at all so I have ended up accepting it. They said I could appeal the process but that was it. Kind of annoying but luckily the number was fine. If it wasn't I dunno where I'd be.

  • 7kw is what you need

  • Insurers once offered me £400 for my BMW E30 318is.. We ended up at £2400.

Which both sound like absurd numbers now. When did I get so old?

  • Still going strong

  • C70 lurking

  • CBA to search so will fall upon thy mercy

Need a tyre as sidewall damage is probably going to cause an MOT fail. Best (read not outrageously expensive and prompt) place to get a tire purchased pre MOT?

  • Blackcircles, and go off reviews? Though I got a better price recently going direct to ATS Euromaster.

  • Yes, what’s that on the top of the c70 fairing ?

  • What car as some like pairs being changed as can effect things like tyre pressure sensors that take signal from abs differentiation

  • There's so little mileage on them that swapping one out should be fine.

  • Have you got a full size spare ;)

    How bad is the damage?

  • I do have a full sized spare, and even had the shitty locking bolts removed so I could actually use it if I had to... It has a different tyre on it though.

Damage is a sidewall nick which has been there for at least six months, but it's a van, so, I'd probably fail it.

  • Not sure - reflectors?

    It is in daily use

  • For a cut in the sidewall, so long as it is not overly long and no cords are visible it will be an advisory.
If cords are visible that is a fail, length of the cut is vague and depends on also depth & the tester.

  • Yeah there's no cords but I just want to avoid that situation where they fail it anyway and you end up paying top-whack for a new tyre and fitment.

  • Chuck the spare on for the MOT? It's not like you're mixing cross-ply and radial, so they should pass it and then you can stick the proper wheel back on and deal with it at your leisure.

  • That assumes I have the time / willpower to do that :(

  • That's the good stuff, excellent combo.

I miss my Honda Dream and its 1000 baht mag alloys that exploded on impact in a crash.

  • Ask the MOT garage to fit it and pay them a tenner cash and a pack of biscuits?

  • and both looking sweet. guessing this is in Japan? though plates on the Honda look British. so in the UK?

  • Malaysia - PEN I think is a Penang plate, although we're not actually in Penang.

Nissan has 123k on the clock and I think it's unlikely to have ever been serviced

  • Audi has passed!!! Thank fuck. Going to take it for a drive at lunch time.

  • Picked up my new m340i touring yesterday after a few months delay and it sitting in Cuxhaven port for 2 weeks…

First impressions are : not bad BMW not bad at all :)
