Would it be silly for me to sell my 2.5yo Hamilton Field Mechanical so I can buy another with a date window? Would I essentially be paying £200 for a date window? I’d also have to not tell my dad who bought it for me.
I guess maybe I could look for a used one with a window. -

Weird birthday today. Put on my Speedmaster that I got for 40th ( 5 years ago already, eek!) Wound it up and now it has stopped, chrono no function, no ticking .. dead. I'm guessing mainspring? It winds with very little resistance.
Will have to take it to Nicholas Hacko ASAP.But, maybe the omega sensed something and got pissed off... My lovely wife surprised me with this beautiful little Seiko KS.

Got paid a little overtime and currently discounted, 35mm is just right.
Any 18mm strap recommendations that look good? Grey? Blue?

I'm starting to ponder getting rid of most of my watches that don't have a date, after a day or two I get annoyed with not knowing what date it is. That may include getting rid of this:

Fuck sticks.
Interested to see how this develops.
My cheap as fuck seagull died after about 5 years.
The winding pin had stripped the cog.
£100 later I got a.nother.
Still COSC

Sorry to hear about your Speedy (it's probably a snapped mainspring) but grats on the KS

Quite like that

I still check my watch for the date having not had a date window for about 5 years. And it’s another thing I want to avoid getting my phone out for.

I've always wondered if the strategy is to use them like watch winders and stuff, to appease people asking for discounts. "Sorry sir, I'm not authorised to give cash discounts but I can offer you this strap which is worth £330."
I.e., everyone knows they're not worth that but they pretend to customers that it is.

They look great mate, here’s hoping for a sell out first edition.

Fuck sticks all right. I'd better get a job to pay for it!
@chrismanc thanks, my wife has excellent taste@Regal if it is a mainspring I'll have to blame myself for quickly winding it and maybe rushing it....

You’ll come to regret selling that. Try and find another for sale.

Err isn't that the entire automatic watch industry though :)

I have to go out drinking in central London this evening and don’t fancy staggering around pissed with something nice on so I went with a cheaper old watch. It was either going to be a frankly massive Magrette Ti dive watch or this. I seldom wear this nowadays, but it is still quite nice.

Those are prices for the NATO straps and they come with free watches ?
Jokes aside this is a horrendous reflection on society.
£300 for nylon endorsed webbing. 😁
