Here are the photos, looks like a fail more than a break imo due to the uniform colour and the nature of the break.

It does look like it went all at once, but that doesn't affect my comment - it could have been bent in a crash and straightened out. On the other hand, it might just be a piece of junk to start with. What's the make, model, year of manufacture? Have you owned it from new? How much do you weigh?
But seriously, don't answer. Shit breaks, you didn't die, it's not worth spending time trying to figure it out. Just get some BL-R770s and live happily ever after.

Carbon seat post in alloy frame, grease or carbon paste? Seat post seems pretty solid so not sure how likely slippage is.
Also alloy stem with carbon bars, more confident that’ll be carbon paste though. -

Looks like a Dirty Harry lever to me.

Might be worth calling London Green Cycles
Edit: Ah, they're closed, sorry.

Then you should have gone to specsavers. A dirty Harry lever wraps around the lever bracket, on the broken mystery lever the lever bracket wraps around the lever. There are other features which don't match, but that's the most obvious one.

Carbon paste is always a good idea when you're trying to clamp carbon; you don't need to grab it as tight. It's not so much about how solid the carbon part is, as the fact it's basically plastic and inherently more slippy than metal - clamping something like that is basically a shit idea, which carbon paste makes less shit.

Mau look like it, but it is not.
It is the famous boutique brand of alone...

I used to like Alone. They don't seem to do much these days. I still have an Alone sticker on my The Make
-
• #6193
I say boutique brand, you say piece of cheap shite ( ok you said junk)
Let's call the whole thing (off) cheap shite and move on....to some cheap tektro levers from condor as I can't afford the dirt harry or gold finger levers that I like

Ah I never messed around with brakes on the bmx - they only slow you down etc.

I'm sure there'll be cheaper versions but this got a bikepacking.com ed's nod

Had a front on crash I to the side of a deliveroo scooter. Does this fork/steerer look bent to you? My bashed up brain is finding it hard to figure out:

If not the fork, then the top tube. See if you can feel any bulges or creasing.
-
• #6199
Top tube always had a bit of a bend from before I got it, but it rode fine with no issues I will feel for additional creases etc though just in case

Frame and fork both look bent to me
Yeah they are a pain in the ass, scratched mine right up getting the shifters on.
