  • You need a TT helmet, skinsuit and aero overshoes to be as fast as possible so I'd get those and and some clip on bars for the madone and shave your legs!

    After that you can start thinking about a TT frame, aero bars, disc wheel, which front wheel, what's the lowest crr tyre that fits the front wheel most aero dynamically, chain waxing, power meter, aero chainring covers, 1x, chainring size, oversize pulley wheels, aero derailleur covers......

  • FWIW I did my local 10s on a road bike on the drops and enjoyed it immensely. There are road bike specific TTs also.

  • Better than that, all the CTT Opens can be done on a road bike and the organiser can sort TT from RB after the fact. Except road bike champs, which is 28th April this year and just up the road in Cambridgeshire.
