I would say that the one thing to bear in mind is that they're animals and therefore don't necessarily need special furniture or beds. Chances are the bits you spend the most on and are the most excited for them to use, they'll sniff once and never touch it again.
If you can arrange for them to have a quiet, surrounded safe spot like under a bed in the spare room or something, they will like that initially as somewhere to go and feel safe.
