I kinda didn’t like carbon wheels (I was permanently affraid that something will happen to them in the middle of nowhere...I know, a bit paranoic), so I switched to Campy calima, they seem bombproof and I can make much longer distances on them, because of peace of mind

Some thing has changed. Different cockpit and seatpost. I’ve had CSC 38mm wheelset for a while, then I gave it to my wife, changed crankset to Force and bought these hubs for cheap and want to build another carbon wheelset for Serotta.
Here comes the question to you - should I go with shallow and lightweight 25mm rims or a little bit deaper with 35mm? Not sure what will work better.

25mm imo

This is what i’m thinking too. I’m affraid it won’t be stiff enough, but it’s vintage steel, it’s not stiff anyway.
I stripped the bike, repaired few paint chips, polished and coated the frameset so it’s ready to be built again. Waiting for new Flite boost kit carbonio and Jagwire elite link brake set, so it’s going to be a tad lighter.
Also wondering about changing the stem for something „cooler” like enve or zipp sl sprint…

Please don't
Lovely bike btw!!

Haha why?

A build like this deserves a simple skinny stem, not a bulky square one imo.

I also think a carbon stem is going to look super chunky and out of place. Skinny stem on this

Ok, I’ll think about it. Hard to find actual „skinny” stem, but I can just leave what I got now.
Back to wheels, shallow or deep? -
• #191
Deep would be more hip hop but how much can you deal with side winds? Box/shallow profiles take more to keep going and feel lighter to get up to speed. In calm/minor windy days the high side profile cuts through and feels like it maintains speed/momentum. For looks the deep ones will make it look Fresher or newer.
Pretty frame

I’ll order the rims after Christmas, it’s not carbon rim weather now anyway. New parts are here

Finally had some time to sit in cold garage and put it all together. Now I’m only wait for some extra cash to order some carbon rims and it’s all done

Sweet. I love the Zipp SL Speed. I've wanted one of those forever but they never come up for sale

Yeah, it’s nice, light, quite slim for a carbon stem, but faceplate bolts are quite PITA, had to buy long ball hex for torque wrench just for these two bolts.

Very nice. For me, the seatpost is a little bulky and I would try to find some slimmer headset spacers but overall it looks great!
